Faezeh Rohani, PhD
I am an Assistant Professor of Software Engineering at Üsküdar University, Türkiye, with a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. My academic journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to advancing intelligent systems for mental health diagnostics, particularly through EEG/ERP analysis, motor behavior assessment, and machine learning. My doctoral dissertation, “The Intelligent System for ADHD Diagnosis in Children Through Motor Performance and EEG Signals,” received a perfect score and the highest distinction in my department, reflecting my long-standing dedication to research excellence.
Over the past 14 years, I have worked extensively across academia, research institutions, and the digital health industry. I previously served as the Founder and CEO of Hamrah, a knowledge-based digital health startup focused on AI-driven neurotherapy, cognitive-motor interventions, and mental health technologies. Leading this initiative from its early research phase to full knowledge-based company status allowed me to bridge scientific innovation with real-world healthcare applications.
My research interests lie at the intersection of artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and healthcare. I specialize in EEG/ERP signal processing, neurofeedback, machine learning, and computational models for diagnosing and understanding mental and neurological disorders. I have collaborated with international institutions, including the Brain and Trauma Foundation in Switzerland, where I contributed to EEG/ERP analysis and neurofeedback research for mental health interventions.
I have authored more than 45 peer-reviewed publications in machine learning, biomedical signal processing, image analysis, and healthcare informatics. I am also the co-author of two academic books, Data Science (2025) and Prompt Engineering (2025). My ongoing research includes explainable AI for knee osteoarthritis classification using 3D MRI data, conducted in collaboration with leading experts in the field.
Throughout my academic career, I have held multiple leadership roles, including Department Head of Computer Science and Motor Behavior, Research Managing Director, and Chair of various university committees. I have supervised numerous graduate theses and international undergraduate projects in artificial intelligence, mental health, educational technologies, and intelligent systems.
My professional development includes participation in international workshops, summer schools, and specialized training programs across Europe, Canada, and Iran, covering topics such as neuroanatomy, brain mapping, computational modeling, neurofeedback, and advanced AI methodologies.
I am passionate about integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare, developing intelligent diagnostic tools, and advancing interdisciplinary research that supports mental health, education, and human well-being. My work continues to focus on creating AI-driven solutions that bridge the gap between computational intelligence and real-world clinical needs.
